Print Mottle Part 3 Article Published in The THAIPRINT MAGAZINE ISSUE 151
From the information in Issue 150, the research methodology was discussed that enabled the selection of appropriate IPDC methods for use in experiments involving actual offset-printed samples.
In this Issue 151, the article summarizes the evaluation of the severity level of print mottle from prints produced in a factory and artificially generated mottle images created by computer. The evaluation was done using visual assessment by human observers and compared with various evaluation methods.
It was found that the IPDC method, using the PRECISEPRO: Versatile Image Analyzer software for image analysis, yielded results that most closely matched human visual assessment. The correlation values were in the range of 0.7 to 1.
